Gopipura : Small hill behind Pawagadh

Gopipura : Small hill behind Pawagadh

Helical Stepwell and Ek Minar ki Masjid

Hi there,

After not posting for a few weeks in a stretch to back to regular updates. I love writing here. I miss sharing our little trips and our feelings behind them... This time let us take you to a small hill just behind our mighty Pawagadh...

This trip was done a few months back. We wanted kids to be prepared properly for the Pawagadh hike. So we selected hills around Pawagadh. This is a small hill near village Gopipura. Lots of mining work goes on there with many trucks. But if you go early on Sunday morning there won't be an issue.

It is quite a short and easy climb.  Kids were thrilled to do it and as it was super easy for them. You can do also do camping at the top.  And the beauty is, we were able to see sun peeping behind the Pawagadh.

From there we went to Ek Minar masjid and Helical stepwell, both of which were closed due to COVID. So will visit them soon.

Hills

A small hill
Asked mighty mountains
I am not big as you
I haven’t been
Named as you
People are not
Achieving
Coming on top of me

Still, I am there
Seeing all
Guarding all
Noticing all
They come
They go.
They climb
They forget
Sometimes
They break me
destroy me

Why it’s like that?

The mountain answered
Every raindrop is an ocean
Every speck of dust is shore
Every note is a song
Every tear is an emotion
Every seed is a forest
Every idea is a discovery

Why look for magnitude?
It’s the infinitesimal
It’s the minuscule
That makes the difference

That small fraction
That small smile
That one word
That one hug
That little help
That little grit
That matters
The most...

So
Don’t you worry Hill
We see you
We feel you
We love you
We care for you
The givings trees
The guarding forests
The bouncing streams
The smiling lakes
The flowing rivers
The accepting oceans
The peeping clouds
The shining stars
The soothing moon
The burning sun
The forgiving Earth
We are in this together
People are foolish
About them
You don’t bother!!!

Nature education Park : Shout out to all parents...a must visit place with kids...

Nature education Park: Shoutout to all parents...A must-visit place with kids...

Hello all...

‘Wilderness touches the heart, mind, and soul of each individual in a way that only known to himself’ - Michael Frome

I feel this truth every time we go to the jungle or to the mountains...They make sure we reconnect with ourselves. And when you need a break from life’s roller-coaster ride, you have to go to such places. It’s not possible for everyone... and it’s not possible every time.. . But this place is a solution if you want to get an experience of jungle trekking... it is our happy place. It is so near to our city and yet so far...because in your mind it will take you to the places miles and miles ahead.

Nature education park, on the way to Sindhrot, provides a wonderful short jungle trekking experience. They also provide night stay in tents, though due to COVID it is not available at present. They have three trails and all three are super fun.

The trails are properly marked. But at places due to rain, the signboards are damaged. But you can take a snap of the map and take out your compass..it is more thrilling that way. And the main highway of Sindhrot is there all along to guide you.

We had spotted nilgai and a few deer first time. But after that, we were not able to spot any animal. But don’t worry the mesmerizing tall trees and lush green plantations all around you and the captivating smell of these vegetations mixed with the smell of Mother Earth will encase you in a cocoon that you won’t want to break. This feeling is enchanting. Though we have done a few safaris, this is thrilling for kids as they can be in charge here. we are not worried about and wid animals (yes we have to be careful with snakes and monkeys)

Our kids love this park. There is a small play zone just before that trail. If we are confused about how to spend our Sunday, this is the option we all prefer.

So that’s it from our side. Go and explore.

Diver ni Madhi - Beach of Our Beloved Reva...

Diver ni Madhi - Beach of Our Beloved Reva...

Hello all,

So we are back with our Sunday excursions. As autumn is fading and winter is slowly and steadily enveloping us in its cold breeze, we are now more energized and enthusiastic about our Sunday mornings. Diwali celebrations are slipping away and kids are now waiting eagerly for Christmas but our minds are only looking for peace in the lap of mother nature.

So to find that calmness what is the better place than our beloved Reva. And now Sheel knows that if I want to feel more energized yet quiet and at peace, he has to take me to any river... so although this is a well-known place, we had to go there as it was on our bucket list for a long.

The ride to the place is very straightforward. there is a beautiful Valkeshwar Ashram at the beach which has the facility of rooms. And what can I say about the beach...it is mild tough for senior citizens as they have to climb down a few steps and need to walk along the beach to reach up to the river. The sand is pristine just like a seashore...

And now my favorite. REVA... as Shri Amrutlal Vegad and Dhruv Dada have mentioned... During the day, she is scenic, delightful to watch but at night she is audible just like a melodious lullaby... During the day she is Narmada but at night she is Reva...When we were at the beach staring at her it was like she was listening to our prayers, our every dream, and our all emotions...our companions were three yellow wagtails...chirping happily and merrily just beside us...

The water is crystal clear and shallow so you can easily dip in the river but please take proper care. as it is not advisable to swim in unknown water. you can always ask locals. the only thing we find disturbing was waste on the beach...the plastics and wrappers were disturbing to our eyes and our mind.

Rivers...
Somewhere she is calm
Somewhere she is agile
Somewhere she is serene
Somewhere she is turbulent

So different
But still the same
In her childhood
Or adulthood
The person will love her
If only they understood

We adore her,
It’s in our blood
She is a giver
And she is a healer
She doesn’t expect
But only if
We are a true believer
Why it’s not enough
For us
Just to consider
It’s high time now
That we save our rivers...

She is Shakti
She protects
She pampers
She takes care
She provides
But
She also can be the destroyer
Love her with all your might
Love her with all your delight
She has the power to ignite
The corners are not in sight...

Rivers...
From mountain to ocean
From village to city
From our heart to prayers
She is tending us
But now
It’s our turn!!!
